Objective :

To recognize a member of the New Jersey Chapter for a significant Project Management achievement while using their project management skills and commitment to the project management profession.

Eligibility

  • Nominee shall be a member of PMINJ Chapter and shall be in good standing
  • Nominee must have served in the capacity of a project manager at least 2 years
  • Nominee achievement has been completed in the year preceding the award nomination period
  • Nominee shall be willing to provide detailed information concerning the achievement
  • Nominee shall have engaged in activities that promotes the practice of project management and its disciplines.
  • Self-Nominating is permitted.
  • Nominee shall not be a member of the PMINJ Board.

Selection Process:

The selection of the PMINJ Project Manager of the Year will be a 3 step process.

Step 1) Open Nomination Period
  • The Nominator will fill out the Nomination Form  and send via email to PMOY(:@:)pminj.org
  • A panel of judges including a representative from the PMINJ board will review all the submitted application and select 3-5 Finalist to continue to Step 2.
  • The applications will be judged with the following 3 criteria
    • Significance  of the Achievement
    • Project Manager use of the PMBOK Project Management Knowledge Areas to accomplish project objective.
    • Which Project Management Leadership skills were successfully demonstrated
Step 2) Final Round (If selected in step 1)
  • The Nominee and/or Nominator will
    • Complete the nomination package (Available later)
    • Ensures there are no restrictions on the use of submitted information and that permission has been obtained for the use of copyrighted materials included in the package
    • Assemble supporting materials
    • Confirm the material can be verified
    • Submit the nomination package to the Selection Committee Team Lead.
Step 3) Selection Process
  • Independent review by PMINJ member volunteers
  • PMINJ board must approve review volunteers 
  • PMINJ board reserves the right to limit the number of volunteers from any single group or corporation
  • Each volunteer will independently review each approved nomination
  • Scores from volunteer’s reviewer will be tallied to determine the PMOY
  • The PMOY will be announced

Schedule

  • January 17 2012 – Open Nomination Period Starts
  • February 19 2012 – Deadline for Nomination Forms
  • March 1 - March 4th 2012 – Finalist will be announced
  • March 30 2012 – Deadline for receiving Finalist Nomination Packages
  • May 7th - PMOY is announced at the 26th Annual Symposium.
